Are you looking for an elegant window covering, but you are on a budget? Pleated shades could be just the right window covering for you. Pleated shades operate in much the same way as cellular shades but are less expensive than cellular shades. Pleated shades are a great soft treatment alternative to mini-blinds and other horizontal blinds. Keep in mind that pleated shades have visible holes in the fabric for the lift cords, so they are not as private as cellular shades or other window treatments. But if you are on a budget and complete privacy is not a factor, pleated shades are a great low-cost way to treat your windows without skimping on appearance. Pleated shades can also be accented with a custom cornice or valance to add to enhance your decor. These window shades are also sometimes referred to as accordion shades because their pleats have an accordion appearance.
